1月12日，政府推出“一个马来西亚人民信托计划” (SARA 1 Malaysia)，给月入少于3000的国民认购，最高每人认购RM5,000，保证每月回酬RM134。

乍听之下，哇！！！酱大只蛤蟆随街跳？算一算，134/5000 = 2.68%。哇，每个月2.68%，一年就32.16%，很像比老鼠会更好。不过哦，不知道政府挖到什么高人，可以保证一年回酬>30%的投资，应该可以当选全世界最优秀投资经理之一了，有机会要认识一下。

想想真好，政府终于认真派钱到穷苦人家那里了。大选要到了，真的不一样。

新年前刚看完一部港剧，[天与地]。很多重卡斯的演员演的。

有好久好久没有看港剧了，觉得它的内容好像比较像快熟面，赶Production似的，变成有很多好的演员，不过没有好的剧本，演员都没办法好好的发挥。

觉得这部剧拍得很不错，也有很多创新的拍法。例如两个故事平行的进行，跳跃式的不停重拍以前与现在。主角的个性，也慢慢的从以前和现在显现出来。

它成功地拍出了少年的轻狂，敢做梦的勇气，与长大后，大家对生活的种种妥协和无奈。另外，Ah Yan 当DJ时的自白，也常引人深思。

整部戏的中心精神是要表达 “The City Is Dying!"，这对我们这些在城市工作的人，感受特别深刻。每天就像蚂蚁般的工作，日复一日，为了更高的效率，大家只好变得更单一，更一样。渐渐的，变成一个个模板。

其实香港算是蛮多元化的城市了，认真比较起来，新加坡会更加单一，更加的同化。吉隆坡呢，我也不会说。每次回去只会发现越来越多外劳。也许人家的 "Dying" 是讲述文化的单元化，而我们的“Dying” 是讲述我们的城市，已经不再真正的属于我们的了。

这部剧的结局拍得很好。音乐果然还是可以引起共鸣的。最后带出平行世界的概念，更是一绝。不过我们的人生只有一条线，没办法再回头。选择了，只好硬着头皮走下去。

不要怨，上天让我们走每条路都一定有它的原因的。

现在的家长都很怕输，孩子小小就要求他们要读报纸，增广时事见闻。

以下是一个9岁小孩子跟父亲的对话。

儿子：[爸，为什么可以用养牛的钱去买公寓的？]
父亲：[因为那是帮公司资产增值的好办法啊。]
儿子：[那为什么那个公寓在他自己的名字？]
父亲：[......酱是有一点问题。]
儿子：[这种问题应该谁去查呢？]
父亲：[反贪局吧？]
儿子：[那为什么不查？]
父亲：[没证据吧？]
儿子：[人家不是说公寓在他自己名下了吗？]
父亲：[那是谣言啊，没有实际证据。]
儿子：[反贪局不是应该去查出证据来吗？不查难道证据自己会跑去他家？]
父亲：[没证据反贪局不会立案开查的啦。]
儿子：[爸，这样的逻辑很奇怪。你看啊，难道要我们人民去查了，把所有证据都摆在他们桌上，他们才开查？酱不是很奇怪吗？酱还要他们干嘛？]
父亲：[儿子...嘘......等下你老爸和你会被他们丢下楼的，别乱说话。]

缅甸8天7夜浅游 (Part 2 -- Mandalay)

第三天
6：00am: 因为是夏天，天亮得特别早。当我们到达Mandalay长途巴士站时，天已经很亮了。我们坐一个Motor改装的三轮车，不会特别贵，大约5000Kyat吧。（等我找回那时的清单，再给准确的钱吧。）长途奔波很累，这时候就在旅馆睡觉养精蓄锐吧。
这里的旅馆不会很贵，（<20 USD)，还有自己的厕所。

10：00am: 状况来了。原来Mandalay的电源不够，所以早上的时候都是会不停不停地停电，大约半小时有，半小时没有。被热醒了，因为夏天特别热。没办法睡了，约定出去走走。

10：30am: 感觉上，Mandalay的人好像比Yangon的人更加富有一些。这里开始有很多Motor了，还有些女人在路边洗衣的。一样还是看到很多男人坐在那里闲聊的。一图胜千解，看些图片吧。

12:00pm: 基本上，因为是淡季，所以旅客不多。所以我们走在路上，都好像被人一直看，一直看似的。不过因为这地方还没有好像印尼，泰国那样注重旅游业，所以也没有人一直来兜售什么的，感觉很舒服。
跟路人闲聊，他们介绍一间ShanFood餐馆（又是ShanFood???)。不过这里的ShanFood真的不错。就像经济饭一样，不会很贵，基本<3000Kyat。

1:00pm: 路上遇到一位司机，谈好价钱，包他半天大约12，000Kyat吧。我们会去Amarapura, Mandalay 南部大约10km，去U Bein Bridge。不过沿途会带我们去参观一些大大小小的庙宇。因为U Bein Bridge 要大约傍晚才漂亮。

2:00pm: 庙宇真的太多了，会有点审美疲劳。这个是Maha Muni Pagoda。这里要说的不是关于庙宇，而是关于缅甸人虔诚的程度。
通常他们进庙，都会买一些金叶，礼拜后然后贴在佛的身上。这个金叶不是开玩笑，很贵一下的。一早以为他们砍我们外国人，所以才那么贵，后来发现其实本地人和外国人时一样价钱的。薄薄三片500Kyat。那个司机拿了2000Kyat，去买金叶。连我们都不舍得买，他们就那么舍得。可能是感谢神明今天给他这笔生意做吧。还有，只有男生可以给佛像贴金叶，-_-|||。

3：00pm: 去到另一个不知名的庙宇（应该很出名，只是我不知道名字）。很宏伟，不过这里要说的不是这个。这庙宇里，有很多小孩在这里玩耍。爬高爬低，跳来跳去。不想别的国家的小孩子会跑来跟旅客拿钱。这里的小孩只是玩耍而已，带着腼腆的眼神看着我们。
其实这时候的他们，应该在学校里读书啊。可惜不是每个人有这个机会。他们的父母忙着找生计，国家也没真正的把资源放在教育上。就这样，一代人就可能浪费了。

4:00pm: 到达U Bein Bridge。刚才走庙宇时，常常赤着脚，所以打算找个地方洗脚才把鞋子穿上。居然没地方洗脚啊，找了很久，终于找到了。一个人 200Kyat，够夸张了吧？旅游区就是旅游区。
U Bein Bridge 是世界上最长的柚木桥，全长1200m。风景很美。租了个船夫，7000Kyat。
跟船夫聊了很多。包括他的未来打算，对国家的期许等等。基本上他们都不太敢批评政府，佛家精神教会他们逆来顺受。他每天租船1000Kyat，像这种淡季，基本上没什么客人。我们是他5天来的第一个客人。他打算自己买一艘船，然后供他的子女读书。大儿子19岁了，可能会去马来西亚工作，因为他们听说马来西亚很好赚。他很喜欢这份工作，因为他觉得跟我们这些游客谈天，他增广了很多见闻，让他知道原来世界是那么多姿多彩的。他连Yangon都没去过，只去过Mandalay。我们不太敢跟他说我们去过哪儿哪儿玩，大多数时间都是听他的故事。

这里要特别讲一下。如果你看这张照片，有很多小小人头在桥底的，那些都是小孩子。他们在干啥呢？捉鱼。我来不及把这一幕拍下来，不过简单形容一下。每个小孩有一个小口袋，他们潜下去，上来了就左手一只，右手一只，还有嘴里咬着一只。然后放进口袋，再继续。我们划近了，想拍一张，他们都不理我们了，没办法。

7：00pm: 去Mandalay闻名的BurmaFood餐馆。因为不知道原来有Default Dishes，所以我们教得特别多。吃不完。吃完后，慢慢走回去Hotel。（又后悔了最后，因为还是很远）。沿途就去街边的小店逛逛，也很不错，只是店都很早关，9.00pm，就差不多了。

4:30am: 一早爬起来，为了要爬上MandalayHill看日出。这个MandalayHill，一定要去的，可以一观整个Mandalay城。梯级很多，大约要爬20-30分钟左右。
整个Mandalay，中心在它的Mandalay Palace(我们没去，因为入门票贵，而且是政府收的，回馈不到人民。我们宁愿去街头买芒果吃）。四周都是四四方方的路，很整齐的。

8：00am:回去睡觉先。直到又被热醒（停电）。

11:30am: 处理完Hotel的事情，买了去Inle Lake的车票，还有定好Taxi后，又出去找吃了。这次路人介绍一个很偏僻的小巷里的食物。看照片你就知道多偏僻了。一样是BurmaFood，不过比昨天的便宜多了。

12:30pm: 吃完后就去走Mandalay市区。基本上这里商业比Yangon发达多了。东西都很便宜，尤其是帽子。各式各样从中国进口的帽子，1000Kyat不到。

3:00pm: 去LonelyPlanet 介绍的一个AisCream Bar，普普通通，没什么特别。

4：00pm: 回客栈休息，准备迎接接下来的魔鬼旅程，14小时车程，Mandalay → Inle Lake。

缅甸8天7夜浅游 (Part 1 -- Yangon)

很多人问我，[为什么去缅甸？]。还真的答不上来。[没去过吧！][体验受制裁国家到底是怎样的？][看看缅甸到底是不是如外界所说的一样，军人政治真那么可怕？][....]觉得全都是假的。就一个最真的道理，[飞机票刚好便宜]。

这次旅行定义是背包旅，就只定第一天的酒店。定了‘MotherlandInn',USD21,双人，有厕所，冷气，风扇。为什么定它？因为有机场接送。如果搭Taxi，从机场到Yangon市区，大约6000-7000 Kyat左右。（1USD =~800 Kyat)

(以下所列全是当地时间，缅甸时间慢马来西亚1小时30分钟）

第一天 (5月27日,阴）
6：15pm ：抵达机场。一直在争论，[为什么时差，会有30分的？（刚刚发现时差是1小时30分）全世界的时间不是只有一小时一小时分的麽？]最后当然没结果，只能accept而已。（这班人是不是很废）

7：00pm ：拿完行李，通关没花多少时间。一直在找酒店来接我们的人。最后，发现MotherlanInn的人，不过牌上不是我的名字。逛了一下，最后还是问他，结果是可以做他们的车的（他们说估计是酒店把名字搞错了，^__^|||）

7:15pm : 等了一下，他们就叫我们上车。一心以为是辆Van之类的，结果很Suprise,是一辆很破的旧巴士。没办法，就上了，反正免费的，就不要要求那么高。路是右驶的，和马来西亚相反。一路上，才发现，原来全部街上的车，都很破。应该是那些先进国，要报销的车，统统卖到这里来吧。

8：00pm : 原来机场很远一下的。大约40分钟。交通有一点乱，不过都没有鸣喇叭的。有也是好像善意的提醒，不像新加坡那种恶意，搞得人很TL的鸣法。路上有看到很多佛塔，真的很美。也有经过Shwedagon Pagoda，晚上真的很美。

8：01pm : 抵达MotherlanInn。很不错一下，房间清洁。放了行李，就马上出去了。这里要说一下。在缅甸，你的USD一定要完美的，不可以折，不然他们不收。我的USD很多都折过，有线条他们就不要收了。他们的解释是，这里的银行，不收不完美的USD。这里顺便跟酒店换了一些Kyat。（能的话，不要跟酒店换，被吃很够力，换一点够吃就好。去AungSan Market换）

8：02pm : 跟着地图，打算走去Sule Paya,就是Yangon市区那里，顺便找吃。路的情况很烂，加上没有路灯，很难走。最好带一个手电筒。虽然街道很黑，但是走了没什么害怕（可能是新来，不知死活吧）。走着走着，才发现，原来那个地图的scale很大，走到半死都还没到，加上路面有一点烂，很难走。

8：30pm : 路边看到很多小吃，但是看起来不是很好吃的样子。加上初来报到，不要冒险吃街边小食，所以都是看看而已。矿泉水，一只1000ml,300Kyat。很多男生在喝茶，很少看到女生。很多卖自制香烟，就是自己用烟草包的那种。还有一些卖好像槟榔似的的东西，叶子包着的，吃了嘴里会红红的。

8：35pm : 走进超市。发现物价很高。100Plus 500ml要800 Kyat(1USD)。回来才发现，可能是因为美国制裁，所以那些进口的货物，价钱都很高。看看时间，是不是发现我们走了很久叻？现在其实是马来西亚时间 10：05pm，大家都饿到晕晕了，还找不到像样的餐厅。很重要的是，还没走到SulePaya（XX的，scale死背大，大国就是大国）。

9：25pm :终于到了SulePaya附近。决定不去SulePaya了，随便找一个东西吃算了。这家店的人不会讲英语，就随便比手划脚，叫了个Shan Sticky Noodle,1200Kyat（一点都不好吃，面全部糊在一起）。随便吃算了。没力了。

9：45pm :搭Taxi回家。一早要3000Kyat,不管，就说只能2000Kyat。ON,就上车了。给他地址，一心以为他一定懂的，哪里知道，他带我们游了半个Yangon，到处问人，最后终于找到了。司机很好，没跟我们要Extra钱。

10：15pm :超级超级累，睡觉。这里就像70年代的马来西亚。车很旧，路面不好。很多三轮车。奇怪Yangon很少Motor。人都很好，司机问路时，大家蛮热心帮忙（只是一直点他去Holland）。大多数人皮肤黝黑（所以我也很像缅甸人），穿Sarung，女生脸上涂着Tanaka。不知道为什么，感觉治安还不错，走路不会有很怕怕的感觉。

第二天（5月28日，下午小雨）

4：00am : 一早爬起来，打算去拍Shwedagon Pagoda（大金塔）晨曦的样子。托酒店叫Taxi,2500Kyat。30分钟车程。它真的很美很美，尤其是亮灯的时候。游客很少，我们就好像贵宾似的。进去，已经有很多缅甸人在那里礼拜。会有人来收钱，5美元一个人，然后他会贴一个Sticker在你衣服上。架相机，拍照。技术不好，一直拍不到好照片。一下子，天就亮了，没戏了。（这里奉劝要拍照的，最好傍晚来，因为晚上亮灯，才是真正的漂亮）

6：00am：到处走走拍拍。不是很好意思走到很近拍人，所以都用长镜头偷拍。什么感想？就是很庄严，大家都很虔诚。宗教给人们心灵平静的力量，是不可忽视的。在那里，也可以感受到那个Aura。跟当地人谈天，问他们这个大金塔，到底是政府出钱造的，还是大家募捐的。答案是惊人的，居然是靠信徒募捐的。很难想象单靠募捐，居然可以造一个那么宏伟的塔。

8：00am:附近走走，没什么东西。搭Taxi回去酒店吃早餐，2000Kyat。早餐很不错一下，吃饱了，就上去睡觉。

11:30am:准备CheckOut。东西可以放在酒店。买了去Mandalay的巴士票。12000Kyat。做Taxi去SulePaya(怕了，不敢走了，Super远），2500Kyat.

我写到这里就停了，停了半年。夸张吧？有些事情要一鼓作气，一旦松懈下来了，就会放在那里，很久，很久，很久。不过换个角度，半年后，还会记得的东西，应该是精华中的精华吧。

12：20pm: 去Lonely Planet 介绍的999餐馆。之所以搞那么久，是因为下雨，加上中午时间，塞车。中间还出了点小插曲。司机不懂我们要去的那间餐厅到底在哪里，所以绕了几圈。不过好在车费已经订价了，它绕就绕呗，我们当作观光。司机终于找到了，不过给了钱后，车死火。搞了很久。最后我冒着雨去帮司机推车。搞了10分钟，终于动了。
这里的食物比昨天的不知道好吃几倍。要推荐这个豆腐，很好吃。其他的Shan Noodle,也不错，好吃过昨天的。正确价钱是多少我忘了。估计不会多过3000Kyat吧。
还有它本地的可乐，叫做Star。因为缅甸受到制裁，所以它的外国入口的日常用品都非常贵。

2:00pm: 从SulePaya慢慢去走走。拍一些街景和人物。基本上，车辆比较旧。很多女人都出来干活。很多卖水果的，尤其是芒果。男生都很干练，作惯体力活的。

3:00pm: 走到累了，走进一间比较Modern的Shopping Centre。看到它的甜品，还蛮贵一下的。根据当地人说，他们日均收入大约1000-1500Kyat左右（如果他们没有骗我的话），那么一片蛋糕就是他们一天的收入了。这个国家应该贫富差距超级大的。

5:00pm: 回到MotherLandInn，坐Taxi去长途巴士站。忘了多少钱，大约7000Kyat吧，接近40分钟的路程。刚好遇到下班的时间，路上车子很多。很多都是DutDut车，然后车里载满很多人那种。

7：00pm: 开始800km去Mandalay的路程。巴士还算不错，就像我们Malaysia的长途巴士一样。只是巴士总是播放节目，然后声音放得超级大声的那种。

Regarding previous post, here is the answer from the lecturer.

1, 2, 3 is correct. The tricky part is the 4th. The 4th statement is grammatically incorrect, but academically correct. The term "NOW" for 4th statement is "mid-position adverb". Dr. Halim said the "NOW" should occur before "are", or after "published", but not in between the both, according to strict grammar rules. However, there are too much people write the academic paper with "mid-position adverb", hence it is allowed to write "mid-position adverb" on academic writing.

Dr. Halim said all the 4 sentences conveyed the same message. We cannot agree with this. But he insisted that "mid-position adverb" should not bring any change of the meaning of the original sentences. Finally, we give example as below.

1. I love ZaiZai only.
2. Only I love ZaiZai.
3. I only love ZaiZai.
4. I love only ZaiZai.

The differences are so obvious, isn't it?
Let's stop here, and write what ever we wish to. Forget about strict grammar rules.

I need to take a Diagnostic English Test (DET), because I am not undergraduate from Singapore. I had to be at least Band 3, to be exempted from taking extra English course for my post graduate study in NUS. Unfortunately, I got a Band 2, so I need to take ES5001A (Graduate English Course) for this semester.

The course is about Academic Writing. The lecturer is Dr.Halim, a Britain. After several classes, I found the key reason why I can not pass for DET test. The course helps a lot, especially for people like me who seldom read English novel and first language is not English. I never have a proper English class like this, and I really appreciate it. I will describe more interesting events in the class later, but today I wish to share a simple question.

For 4 sentences below, which is grammatically incorrect?
1. Many papers are published in English now,
2. Now many papers are published in English.
3. Many papers now are published in English.
4. Many papers are now published in English.

I will come back to this.

愤怒

从小到大，一直被教育成，要喜怒不现于行，不轻易动怒。看故事，也比较倾向于崇拜那些运筹于帷幄之中的军师，不受任何环境的影响，冷静地思考。

刚看了篇文章，说明人为什么会动怒？

长话短说。愤怒虽然是负面情绪，但是，它却是不回避，不放弃的表现。当一个人受到环境/个人的阻碍时，又觉得自己应该可以改变现状，身体就会激发愤怒的情绪。愤怒帮他调节身体的资源，使他更有攻击性，力量增加，更有可能扭转乾坤。

所以，经常愤怒的人，是个灵敏的人，对外界敏感。这种人，是勇敢又斗志高昂的人。虽然愤怒有时会让人不快，但是它却是有它的价值存在的。愤怒代表不满，通常都是改变现状的动力。

有一类人，不太爱/不太会表达自己的不满，平常总是通情达理，乖巧淡定，情绪十分稳定。但是，平常跟他们接触的人，都被他们这种平稳情绪气得够呛。这些人，不太会直接表达愤怒，而是从行为上间接表达出来，简单来说，就是“非暴力不合作"的行为。这些含蓄，不直接的愤怒压抑行为的出现，是有原因的。简单来说，就是害怕愤怒的威力，或是因为愤怒而受到过伤害。

文章最后，解释愤怒只是手段而不是目的。要尽量让愤怒这个负面情绪为我们所用。利用愤怒的灵敏性，来发觉生活的种种不如意处，以此为起点，让它成为改变生活的动力。

p/s:其实如果你对所有事情都不生气了，那是不是表示你都不在乎那些事了。人，就会慢慢变成橡皮，zombie般地生活下去吧。

人，偶尔还是要愤怒一下的。^__^

Hence GOOG is one of the best candidate for traders to bet on earning call. Another attractive point is, GOOG always spike after earning announcement. GOOG spiked up 40 dollar during Oct 2010 earning, spiked down 30 dollar during Jan 2011 earning.

Carry Trade

What is Carry Trade?
In short, Currency Carry Trade is a strategy where a trader buy a currency with higher interest rate, while selling another currency with lower interest rate. The trader will gain some interest from the differences between 2 currency.

Can it be substantial?
Yes. Let's say AUD/USD conversion rate is 1:1. You borrow 10000 USD from brokerage/bank, and buy 10000 AUD. AUD interest rate = 4.75% annually, and USD interest rate is 0.25% annually. After 1 year, if AUD/USD conversion rate is still 1:1, then you will get 475 AUD from interest, while paying 25 USD to brokerage/bank, making you have a net income of 475-25 == 450. 450 / 10000, only 4.5% return annually, not very attractive, which can easily being beat by ETF and other hedge fund. But almost all currency broker house provide leverage, from 50:1 up to 200:1. Let's take medium, leverage = 100:1, which means u can deposit USD 100 into your account, and holding a LONG 10000 AUD/USD position. Let's says after 1 year the conversion rate didn't change, you will have USD 450 for this carry trade. 450 / 100 = 450%. Awesome right? But please take currency fluctuation risk into consideration. If after one year, AUD/USD conversion rate drop to 0.97:1.00, by holding such position, actually you only earn 450 - 300 = 150, which is 450 from interest income and 300 from currency lost. Needless to say if AUD/USD drop to 0.90:1.00, which actually you lost 550 (450-1000). Of course if the conversion gain, let's say AUD/USD = 1.10:1.00, you will have double income, 1000 from currency gain and 450 from interest.

Strategy
For this case, we ignore short-term currency fluctuation, and only focus on interest income and long-term trend. With FED crazily printing USD to save US economy, everyone would agree that for long-term, USD is going down for a very solid reason. With all the hot money around the world, the commodity (Gold,silver,metal) price will shoot up. And AUD is well-known as commodity currency. So, for long term, high possibility AUD/USD pair will be up trend.

Current position
With 3000 SGD in the account, I am holding 10000 AUD/USD pair, with price around 0.9700. Earning around 1.3SGD interest pay day, by excluding currency fluctuation factor, I would make 1.3*365 = 474 SGD after a year, which is around 474/3000 = 15.6% annually. I am using Oanda as my currency broker house, which allowed leverage until 50:1. So by this position, (LONG 10000 AUD/USD), it only cost me around 270 SGD as deposit. I can always add up my AUD/USD position when AUD/USD pair drop.

Potential Risk
1. US hike interest rate. This will kill off some of the profit from carry trade, since the interest different between 2 pair is narrowed. This is unlikely to happen in short term, since US economy is just start picking up, FED would not like to kill off this bubble so soon.

2. AUS reduce interest rate. This is unlikely to happen too, since the inflation pressure at AUS is high. Unless, AUS hit by a major natural disaster, such as earth quake, flood, tornado, etc, which force the AUS to reduce interest rate to boost the economic, just like what New Zealand had done recently, after NZ hit by major earth quake at Christchurch.

3. Commodity price collapse. Unlikely to happen in short term, since all the hot money have no where else to go to.

行善

昨天听康利说，中国有一个富豪，要去台湾做慈善。

怎么做呢？他会带一大把现钞，包成红包，然后所有需要的人，来排队，就可以领了。听好，是所有人，怎样鉴定哪些是有需要的人，我不知道。不过应该真的会有很多人吧。

我听完了，第一个感觉就是，[哇，怎么踩场踩到台湾去呢？太爱炫耀的啦，这些大陆人。台湾的富豪一定超级K到。]

今早刚好读到这位善心人士的报道，才发现我对他是完全误会了。他是坦荡荡的做善事，而且，在他还没真正富起来时，就已经在捐款了。

不过，因为他的行为是高调行善，所以引来很多人批评他这是“伪善”。不过，怎样都好，我是觉得，只要动机是对的，高调行善事没什么不对，可能这会感召更多人加入行列，一起行善。哪些批评的人，怎么自己没出来行善呢？高调行善，总好过让一群不肖子女在争家产（香港，台湾，澳门很多大家族），落人话柄。

If our lovely Najib, or all those YAB(Yang Amat Berhormat), really care about their citizen, wanna know what is their citizen's problem is, the best way they should do is, go take train, bus, or stand at bus station, listen to people gossip, know what people's concern now.

If I still at Malaysia, I will not have chance to take public transport everyday. But now I at Singapore, and do not have enough money to have a car, (car is a luxury here, for me), I had to spend around an hour everyday, taking bus, train, then bus again to reach office.

So I meet a lot of people everyday, listened to their conversation. And as expected, 90% of their conversation are more toward complaining. Complain about boss, colleagues, life, house-owner, etc. Ya, life is never perfect, and we have tons of reason to complain, when things turned against us. But there are so much of wonderful things happen everyday too. But people tend not to discuss about that, maybe complaining will bring sympathy from other people. People like to be comforted.

But, when u see teenagers, they are so happy normally. Chit-chat each other, playing around, talking about wonderful things, etc. We had time like them before, but since when we start to lose our sense of being happy, always look things at negative perspective, not considerable, etc? Life pressure changed us? I dunno.

Life should be wonderful. Being alive is already wonderful enough.

Work Life Balance

Time flies, Opps, I should say "rocketed" since start working. It had been 4 years working.

When looked back, how much things I had achieved for my 4 years in secondary schools, 4 years in University, but I hardly wrote out anything what I had achieved in 4 years time of working.

4 years in secondary school, I had my wonderful times in school, grew from a small young boy, too a matured teenager. Bulid life-long friendship with best friends, doing a lot of crazy/stupid things.

4 years in University, grew from a small kampung boy, to a hot-blood young man. Knowing how corrupt our country are, start care about others, etc. Build strong, good friendship with course-mates, while build my profession in career.

4 years working life, we got money, but in-exchange with our time. We had miss out so much of great things. Our life become machinery life, morning wake-up, go work, fight fight fight, at night back home, dinner, sleep. When schedule a meet up with friend, the schedule is by months. Even very close friend, we might meet up 6 months once, 1 years once. Everyone is busy.

So how to motivate ourselves during weekend, or maybe after work? If you work until 11pm everyday, you will slowly lost all your friend, because you are so hard to be invited, sooner or later, your friend will give up on you, and you had to spend your whole life in office.

Having a relax dinner with close friend helped. At least they remind you that, your life is not only work. You can talk about all things other than work, complaining to each other, talk about old sweet time.

Listen to some soft music. It helped to remind you that, you are not machine, you still have feel, you still know how to appreciate good music. My way of express thing is so terrible, and I guess nobody will able to feel what I wish to say now. Maybe is due to language, or maybe is due to I am really not a good writer. Just give me some times, I will improve.

NUS

Start study my postgraduate of Electronic Engineering at NUS. It is actually a Master of Science by coursework, so I just need to finish 10 module, by minimum CGPA 3.0.

The tuition fees is SGD 1990 / semester, and the is PR rate. For international student, I think the rate will be higher. So it depend how long you needed to complete it, for example, you take 2-3-2-3 course per semester, then you will need need 4 semester, but if you take 2 courses only per semester, then it would need 5 semester.

My classmate are mostly from India and China, most of them. Every year, NUS sponsored many scholarship for foreign student, mostly from China and India, to attract them to study at NUS. But they need to work at Singapore for > 3 years, after graduation, unless you can prove that you are unable to be employed.

According from my Singaporean friend, sometimes they felt like NUS is not build for them, but for all foreigner. In order to get into NUS, they either need to be high-flyer at JC (Junior College, A level, just like STPM at Malaysia), or they had to study at Singapore Polytechnic, and score a very high pointer. But for foreigner, the standard seems lower a bit. So it is not easy for Singaporean to get in to NUS, for those who get in, most of them are high-flyer during JC.

Sometimes I feel sorry about Singaporean, because the community is very competitive, and the government doesn't really have protective measure to protect them for all outsider. And they had to push themselves to be competitive, and this whole thing bring the small country up to 1st class country. So the government shape the people.

RIMM is a good quote to trade strangle on earning, due to it's nature of price gaping when earning released.

2010/06/24 After market : 2010/Q2 report. 1.38(1.34).

Although it's earning beat forecast, but revenue missed. Market quickly react and gap down 5%.
Here is the option table before, day open, day close on 2010/06/25.
Straddle result.
And this is the day open/ day close data.

As we can see, how big the impact of implied volatility reduce before and after earning release, hurt straddle.

Another strategy, which gain profit from the reduction of implied volatility from the day open to day close. Only 52.5 pair earn, because RIMM price drop another 5% after the market open.

Profit = 109.27 -108.84 = 0.43

	107c @ 5.29	107p @ 3.45	SPY 109.27
100	-5.29	-3.55	9.27	0.43
105	-5.29	1.45	4.27	0.43

So there are confirm profit 0.43.

But is it worth?
Let's calculate cost. Commision fees excluded.
Cost = Long 107c, Short 107p = 184.00
Short 100 SPY @ 109.27 = -10927.
Profit = 43.
Sound like we are using (10927+184) just to earn 43, which is 0.387% in 30 days, or 4.64% per anuum.

How if commision included?

While open the position,
Long/Short = 10+(0.75*2) = 11.50
Short SPY = 10
Total = 21.50

While close the position, there might be 3 scenario, (i) Stock price < price ="="> strike price.
Let's ignore scenario (ii), it is very unlikely to happen.
Scenario (i) and (iii) will have same cost, which is
one option expired worthless, one being assigned. = 20
Close SPY = 10.
Total cost = 30.

Total cost = 30 + 21.50 = 51.50.
Profit = (43-51.50) = -8.50.

So this does not work for 1 option, but what if 10?
Total cost = (25+10) + (20+10) = 65
Profit = (430-65) = 365

Return for the trade in %.
365/(1840+109270) = 0.32%, or 3.94% per annum.

3.94% per annum?
Sound like is the rate we can get if we put the money in the bank. Then why should we make our so difficult to trade on this, sort of 0% return trade?

As far as I knew, if we short a stock, we no need to pay for full amount. It just need 500 for each 100 stock you short. So actual cost u needed to open the trade is actually, 1840+5000 = 6840.
After Math, it would be 5.33%, or 64% per annum.

Wow, 64%........

Will we got margin call if the stock spike?
Nope. We will got margin call, when the account value is less than the amount we risk.
When the stock spike, although the value of stock is depreciating, but the value of call option is appreciate. It will offset the difference, and make your account value unchanged.

What's next?
With the bid/ask spread closer when the market open, the return would be more attractive.
The next thing I would like to confirm is, whether this strategy can be placed on real trade. I got to wait until Monday to do this. Let's see how.

2009/08/31 : 7.00am. 一早出发，从Patong 出发。乘坐Van去岛的另一端。一个小时左右。
Phi Phi 岛：700 B 一个人。大队，200 人左右。大船。一小时半左右。
行程如下：岸边 -> Maya Bay -> Snorkeling(Monkey Beach) -> Phi Phi Island(Lunch) -> Back
感觉如何？
风景真的很美，尤其是 Maya Bay 和 Phi Phi Island。至于浮潜，真的是，三个字，不好玩。我一直很怀念当年在热浪岛，或是刁曼岛的浮潜。有一群朋友，然后有一个导游，细心呵护着，带着我们去看鲨鱼，海龟等等。现在的，真的是好像演习大海落难记似的。大船一到，200人呼啦呼啦跳下海。有些人完全没有浮潜的经验，后果可想而知。就算我们这些有经验的，也不敢去太远。结果就在附近随便浮浮一下，就上船了。
船的状况

Phi Phi Island。我拍的不够美。请亲自去现场。
回程，还出了状况。船的引擎，被渔网缠着了。船停在大海里一个小时。说真的，船被抛锚在大海，还真的不是闹着玩的。感觉很可怕，很担心随时要弃船，那就惨了。不觉得那一种船，悔罪备好足够所有乘客的救生衣。

2 more days, I will be 27. Wow, consider quite old. But still do not see much green light in my life yet, career, financial, family, etc.... Ya, maybe 27 is still too young to consider all this.

By coming to Singapore, more and more uncertainty in my life. Love, career, living style, and a lot a lot. It is just another kind of different life style, and I am not sure whether I like it, or not. And this make thing very hard, when you can settle down on your mind, you can't make big decision. And everything just stuck there, and keep on stuckking.

And the most important thing, it seems like I start losing passion on my work. Start getting bored, and do not have intention to learn more thing though. Now I just start to understand, why for those management associate vacancy, one of the criteria will be, "working experience less than 2 years". It is really hard to keep on the fire just like you just graduate from school. But I believe, by keeping the fire, your life will be more success. Come back, my PASSION!

A naive view. I think none of the economist will agree with him. If by raising currency can make the country rich, who don't Indonesia, and other poor nation let their currency rise. The question is, how? When investor have no confident about your government, the investing environment is not clear, the factory output is not competitive enough, who will willing to bring their money to invest in the country. Without people bring in the money, how can your currency rise? The government bought it itself?

P.Guna was saying this statement because, Najib claimed that, in order for Malaysia to become as rich nation by 2020, we need annual growth of 7%. So P.Guna suggested, why not we let the Ringgit to rise 7% annually, it brings the same result. Yes, a simple calculation, but the problem is, how to let our currency rise, it can't be done by saying, "Let's Ringgit rise 7% today".

The currency rise must come together with the nation growth, just like China and Singapore. With the GDP growth 10% annually, plus the Yen rise more than 7% last year, actually China citizens become 17% richer than previous year. We wished to be same as them too.

But by rising the currency, the company's export will be affected. The goods is no longer cheap, unless your productivity and quality rise together with the currency, else your goods will soon become very expensive, and lost competency. I am not sure did P.Guna thought about this, before he published the article.

If the nation with highest currency is richer, than we are richer than Japan, and Taiwan, Korea etc.

The Alchemist

It had been so long that I din finish reading an English book, I mean soft one, not those Times, Newsweeks, Busineesweek etc. Sometimes it is good to read some soft book, I will helps, for us to rethink about our lives, dreams.

"The Alchemist", a short story book, which is telling about a story of a boy chasing his dream, a treasure in pyramid. Through simple story, the author brought out some obstacles, which everyone is facing in their live.

While reading this book, I start to think about a simple question. What is your dream? A simple question, but I don't think people can easily answer it. I myself cannot answered it, even to myself. Are we getting more stupid when we grew? Why a simple question, which can easily answered by a kid, and can't we? Live become robotic, after you start work. Everyday start with a constant rhythm, seeing everyone going toward one direction, and so on the evening. Time to start thinking.

为什么称为浅旅呢？因为走完这一趟后，觉得至少还可以再来5次，才会对它的文化有深一点的了解。加上语言不通，少了许多乐趣。

上次台湾之旅，比较多照片，这一次，文字会多一点。

2009/08/30 4.00pm : 到达Phuket Airport. 一阵喧哗。到处都是Taxi 的Service provider. 网上看到到达Patong Beach 是 500 B, 不过还是给人唬了，650B , 到最后 550B. 后来才发现，外面的，价钱从550B起跳。所以最后应该可以减到500B。

2009/08/30 5.00 pm : 到达Patong Beach Resort. 27 SGD 一晚。奇怪的是，原来在网上订购，还比现场便宜。下次一定要网上订购。现场订要1000B一晚，晕倒。

2009/08/30 5.15 pm : 饿到七彩，赶快去吃东西。一路上，有很多按摩女郎，在招揽客人，感觉很红灯。吃Pat tai. 吃的时候，还看到两个疯狂的年轻人，沿途跟人家说，叫鸡很爽，还抚摸下体。真的是 -__-|||. 我还拍了他们的照片。

2009/08/30 9.00 pm : 去看Tiger show. 500B 一个人，本来打算说去见识一下，哪里知道货不对板。简单说明，就是随便派几个女子，在上面跳舞。跳了几分钟，再换四个。有些已经是老阿姨了，真的是晕。然后就表演。Ping Pong, banana, balloon 之类的。跟之前想象的落差很大。带着希望进去，失望出来。

I should wrote this article earlier, early July, when I get burn from sudden trend change from bear to bull, with GS better than expected earning announcement. Eroding all the gain, with > 70% of initial capital, I start thinking am I betting too much, too much than I can afford to.

Start then, I decide to think back, and invest on fundamental stock. Really cannot get used with the portfolio only fluctuating <1% every day. When the age grow, we are not able to take risk as we are young. When our portfolio is 10k, we can put 100% in the options, but when our portfolio is 100k, we cannot do the same.

So many veteran investor i met, told me to invest, and not gamble. But, when you earn money from it, you thought you got the method, you think all is in your control, and trade bigger and bigger. This is the most common mistake amateur failed to do, position sizing, especially when you trade in high risk position.

I am old, and cannot afford to lose big money anymore. I will focus of manageable position, and only put small portion on trading high risk counter. Kiss good bye, risky doggie.

Stop Lost, PCX

Every experience trader knew how important a stop lost point meant to them. A stop lost ensure you to have sufficient capital to fight back your loses, and not let your capital faded with a terrible trade. But in reality, it is very hard to execute it. Let's take an example.
When it fall below neck, which is around 8.40, it is a nice short opportunity. But when you see the stock price drop almost 20% with only 2 days, it is not a good idea to short it anymore, especially market is in intermediate bull trend, so we might wait. And here we miss the chance.
I post the URL for PCX at the top of this post, let's see what happen next.

Failed set up. Cut lost quickly. Not sure am I able to do this if it is a real trade. When emotion come in, the decision making might lag several minute, which will killed in day trading.

And this is what happen if you do not execute exit plan.
Your heart will be torture by the fear, because at that time, the 85c options already 3.50, which make u lost 0.50. You might choose to hold, but this already violate your initial assumption, at first, you just wanna day trade, now you have no choice but to hold it.
If it rebound, then you a lucky guy, but how if it didn't? Your total portfolio will be hurt by a single trade, which is a very dangerous move. Let's see what happen at the last for today.

Final destination of capitalism

Just finish read a book, discussing about the current situation of capitalism, which is a bit off of track from what the founder, Adam Smith wish to be. Just like every great philosopher, like Jesus, Muhammad, 孔子 and other, people tend to change their thought, to fit the situation, the situation which will benefit them. The successor misinterpret their point, intentionally, or unintentionally, to create a situation, which benefit them the most. And these misinterpretation, resulting various wars, human disaster.

Human civilization is proud with capitalism, one of the ideology which last for almost 3 century, and it is proved to be the most success, which lead civilization toward the prosperity time ever. The power of "the invisible hand", lead people react toward the most productive economic behavior, which bring specialism, the formation of metamorphosis and others.

But since a decade ago, when all the world leader gather in WTO summit, there are more and more people protest outside the building, claiming the capitalism, globalization, had bring so much pain toward them. Why did this happen, don't they remember that, is capitalism, which bring them all these prosperity?

Nope, this is not the prosperity we wish to see. Just like Kenichi Ohmae 大前研一 said, our society are moving toward M-shape society, which there are a lot of people who very rich, and a lot of people who very poor. Current middle class will move toward down side. Why does all this happen? Can't capitalism ensure everyone have a happy ever after life? Where is "the invisible hand"? It should correct the situation, toward balance.

Please always remember that, theory is always base on assumption, every theory is. Adam assume that this "invisible hand" work, base on an assumption, moral. Adam expect "the invisible hand" work fine, when people will not misuse it, to hurt anybody else. And if, when people do so, the government should come in, and correct the situation.

But now, the system reward short term profit boost, which will bring the stock price up. Every management are given some stock options, which they can only benefit with stock price surge. For example, when competition come, company have 2 choice to counter it, inprove the quality, or lower cost. Of course the ideal of capitalism is "the invisible hand" will force the company to improve the quality, which will benefit the whole society. But what management will do now is, reduce the employee cost, or even lay-off them, and use 5 people to do 10 people's work. The effect is significant, the stock price surge, management get lot of money, so do shareholder. But the product's quality is not improve, and a lot of people are suffering with job losses and low salary.

Ya, GDP grew, stock market up. It show prosperity, but most people are not enjoying it. Only those who rich, will become richer, and the poor, will only had their fate to be squeezed. People already turn this capitalism, as their own carnival, enjoying the data which only look at the profit, and sacrifice others. Money is all the thing, we are living in such generation. And finally, these bring us th greed, which generate 2008 subprime crisis. "The invisible hand" become crazy, which drive people to greed, to hurt other people in order to sustain growth.

Where will capitalism go? It already had several update version, from 1987-1997 privatism, 1997-2007 golablization, and now? No people will know. Perhaps more socialism's capitalism. We shall see.

Exp In Investing?

Experience is important in trading/investing? The longer time u inside the investing world, the higher probability for you to success? I would say, certainly no, not at all.

When I start full invest after I work on 2006, I always ask myself, can I escape from the next financial crisis, since I already knew it too much during Asian Financial Crisis on 1997. The answer is no, although I earn some during 2007 bull, but almost all my money are inside Malaysia stock market now. Although I have good confident they won't go bankrupt, and is a good company, but seeing -40-50% in the paper lost is not a good feeling.

Can I pick a good buying point when crisis come? Seems like I failed again. I bought too early, when the 2008 subprime financial crisis start to burst, and certainly, I get burst also. Money and confident lost, when the market is panic, I am like the others. And miss the strongest rebound ever, from 9 March, 30% rebound from the bottom, and i din pick up any.

The most upset thing in trading, is not stock price down, is when the market up, and u are not in the boat. It really killed. Nothing to do now, just trying on paper trade, and wait patiently. Still a bit bearish about the market, at least not the bullish. I must earn back all my money in US, then I can consider pump in more into there.

Again, position sizing is important. I bet too big previously, which killed me when I missed once. And is a bit hard to recover, when ur capital and confident hurt. Thanks Tze, for keep on reminding me about position sizing. Thanks Lion, for accompany me on paper trade, your blog is awesome.

What is the most important in trading/investing, is discpline, determination, confident. Not how long u are in it. Some people, no matter how long they play dota, they are still NOOB, same in trading. We must learn from it.

Gambler and Player

Just finish read a book, "My professional poker player". The book is about profile of some well known professional poker player, such as Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Stu Ungar, etc.... The book bring out a good point, since casino is always having edge, and if someone have no reason to not gambler, why he choose a game which himself does not have edge? Why not he choose poker, which it seems fair to every participant, the only diff is only pro's and noob.

Let's me explain what my title exactly wanna bring out. Gambler, 赌徒，is someone, who gamble for fun, base on his luck. Sometimes, he might win, sometimes no. And the most important thing is, he himself do not know what is the reason he win or lose. Player, 玩家，is someone, who gamble, and gamble for their living. They are caution, not gamble base on emotion, but gamble for win, win the money for their living. They analyze, observe, calculate, counting card, trying their best to find an edge compare with others. They have good money management, cutting lose when chances of winning is low, double their bet while chance is high, acting, traping people to pour their money into them.

If you have chance to watch movie "Rounder", star by Mat Damon, a movie about a professional poker player. There is a scene, saying Mat Damon playing with Johnny Chan, and that guy, is the real Johnny Chan, 9 time world champion on Poker.

After reading this book, I think trading is also like gambling, but we can choose to be gambler or player. Trade for living is never easy, it is just as hard as gamble for living. It need smart mind, high discipline, well money management, etc. But I am so glad, seeing a frieng of mine, is moving toward it. He really have the discipline, and passion about trading. Go ahead, Lion. We can be a player in someday.

最近又看了些痞子蔡的书，感觉他的书，风格差不多一样，不可以一次看太多，会闷。基本上，他的文笔真的很好，用很简单的文字，就能带出人们心里的感动。故事情节，也不会离现实生活太远，甚至有人怀疑，那根本就是他的故事。

从小就喜欢看书，基本上，看书应该是最便宜，又有益的娱乐。但是，我的文笔就很差。记得小学时，因为成绩还不错，所以老师就想叫我代表学校去参加写作比赛。但是，为了名正言顺，我也要先参加校内的作文比赛。不过，我落榜了，连安慰奖也拿不到。忘了题目是什么，只知道当时七龙珠非常火热，我的作文，也拿悟空，比克，达尔来做主角。可能写得太烂了，也可能老师不能接受这种写法，所以连安慰奖也没给我。

不过，老师还是破例，让我这个没名分的，去代表学校，可能老师觉得我在作文比赛，只是马失前蹄而已。结果，校际作文比赛，我还是没拿奖。可能那时造成的阴影，所以，我的作文一直都没写好。

中学时，有个机会去当星洲日报的学记。但是，却在已经被录取了的时候，临阵退缩。也忘了是给什么借口，总之就是没去。SPM试考的时候，还记得是个完成短文，大约是说，父母出去后，突然发生了。。。。我却当作哲学文章来写，说父母出去后，突然看到墙上的蚂蚁，然后就写从蚂蚁的行为，所领悟到的人生哲理。当然，老师又叫我去训话，说虽然完成短文可以自由发挥，但是我也写得太扯了吧。没办法，只好循着老师要求的去写，毕竟不要跟分数斗气。

长大了，什么都可以写。尤其是，博客风行的时候，大家都是小作家了。我也在自己的小部落客上，留留文章。也可以练练自己的文笔。还是欣赏痞子蔡那种，从简单文笔，所带出的细腻情感。觉得，我们的故事，肯定没有比它差，但是却很难写得比它好，比它更容易触动人心。

努力吧，小作家们。

When.........you just wanna do nothing,,,,,

Had you ever had such scenario? Wake up in the morning, even lazy to brush your teeth. Then you start to think what you should do in this lovely weekend, after a 5 days hard work. Can't think any? Finally decide to end up at watching movie, playing game whole day. Then hungry, go take lunch, come back, continue......hungry, go dinner, come back continue........Opps, forgot to take bath......take bath, continue......tired, go sleep. Sound like a life of zombie, living zombie...

Everyone had such experience before, just they might not playing game, or watching movie, but they are doing the same thing, something wasting their time, their life, their lovely life, especially at the time 20's, which is a energetic age.

This is a time, which is Chinese we call it, 自暴自弃. This normally happen, when someone start to think of, what is the meaning of his life, what is the thing he wanna achieve, what is he going to be......to many what, why, how.... Hence, he start to runaway from reality, taking his own sweet time at imaginary world, or just doing nothing.

But normally, after all, he will regret, for he doing nothing at the long weekend, and he start to curse himself, a negative feedback loop, which will bring it toward long deep deep hell. Finally, he will recover, everyone will recover, we are not able to live like zombie for long time. But the problem is, how long will you take to recover? And when u recover, are you answer your questions, and become more positive minded?

Here is what I do normally when I fall in such scenario. Reading is the most useful medicine for me. And talking to friend does help. Even though you won't share your problem to them, but simply talking can take away your bad mood. Doing some sport helped. The most important thing is, always make ourselves happy, then the good thing will come to u.

The curious case of Benjamin Button

2009 Oscar best picture nominee, not sure will become best picture or not, I hope it will.

Story telling about Benjamin, who born physically old, and grew toward younger, on physical only.

I watch the movie twice, first time no have much feeling, maybe I am doing other things while watching movie, I always did this, for no wasting time only on watching movie. My job nature trained me to become a multitasking machine. But after this, I think I won't do it again, especially when watching a great movie.

第二次看这部电影时，百感交集，真的不知道为什么第一次看的时候，那么冷血。主角从小就在一个养老院长大，身边都是来来去去的老人。他们入住的那一天，就知道，他们就是在等着那一天，每个人都会到达的一天。不同的人，会用不同的方法去过他们最后的日子。有些人，会尝试回忆他们辉煌的过去，有些人，就在吹捧着各自的故事。其实，我不知道，到底一个人老的时候，是需要孩子多一些，还是需要老朋友多一些。孩子不会有心情去听你牢骚，你只会一个人孤单得呆在家里。跟朋友谈天，虽然会快乐一些，但是你不知道他们有没有真心的听你说，还是只是你一厢情愿的吹水。如果是我，我应该会写回忆录吧，把自己一生，都写下来，毫无隐瞒，然后，带进棺材里。
老人朋友的离去，教会了主角，失去一个人的感受。新生代的我们，都活得很开心，很少经历失去一个重要的人的感受。“we made to lost people we loved, how else we know how important they are to us?" 说的真潇洒。想想都觉得可怕。你希望你的挚爱先你而去，还是看着你离去。我没有意见，毕竟这不是我们可以选择的。

主角决定去漫游世界，做他想要做的事。年龄困锁不了他。疯狂的船长教会他，没有人可以限制你的梦想。You are what you wanna be。船长死的时候，说了这句话。"you can swear and curse the faith, but when it comes to the end, you just have to let go"。Ya, we can only let go。

主角遇回儿时的玩伴，坠入爱河。可惜，一个慢慢变老，一个慢慢变年轻。注定不会开花结果的爱情。不过，当主角老死的时候，女主角还是陪着他，陪着一个新生婴孩。很有禅意的画面。

整个剧情，就是生活的点点滴滴，从中带出很有深意的感觉。导演成功把那种感觉营造出来。这不是一般导演可以做到的。不过，个人觉得，前提还是，看电影一定要专心，这样才会有FEEL。

2009 CNY

CNY just end. When grow up, we will know how important CNY is, it is the only chance you can meet all your friend, who might be working around the world, and only CNY, you can meet them together, getting information about what other people are doing, instead of just living in our own small world.

The topics tend to change every year. 2007 CNY, some of them are still studying, while UTM grads start working. And those who still studying are so curious about the working life, ask about our wages, and we told them, truely, dun think it is something P&C. 2008 CNY, most of them working already, and the topic remain about the working life, wages. Still everyone still sharing all so call P&C information. Everyone is doing different thing, they envy us, we ency them. (你看我好，我看你好吧了）。2009CNY, economic crisis. people just sharing how bad their company are. And now, no people wanna ask wages already, it become P&C. Yes, when age grow, more and more thing become P&C.

2009 CNY hot topic is about weeding. A lot of friend, especially those are financial affordable, will marry today. Ya, everyone is talking about this, and putting more and more pressure on the peer, especially for those who haven't have a stable relationship.

For a standard middle class, basic requirement is need a house and a car. But for normal people, they will not able to buy a house and a car before 28. Even if they do so, their burden will be very heavy, and hence they cannot grab new oppurtunity if it arise.

How if, marry without a own house? Ya, of course we can do this. After marry, still rent a house, and live normal. But ideally, people tend to have a new house, then get marry, furnish the house, the room, and start a brand new life. One of m friend said, "why need to marry, if you dun want to give birth a baby?". I have no comment on this. Let have best wishes for all the couple who is going to marry this year.

Rule must followed

This is the rule which I will follow in my future trading. Pay for these lessons on 2008. Most of the trade turn up into big lost, due to I do not apply these rules.

1. Use stop lost. Must think of the cost of lost, before thinking of how much can earn.
2. Never counter trend. Trying to pick up at bottom is dangerous, because we never know where is the bottom.
3. Be confident, follow your plan. Don't ever being defeat by our greed and fear.

This is the 2 lessons I learn from my trading fault. Everyone know that, but once you wish to apply, it is damn hard.

Really have a bad year on 2008, which I should not have. Let's conclude 2008 my US stock journey.

Early 2008, start setting up Bear Call Spread on SPY, which give me 10-20% each month. However, I do buy some options, which wipe out my profit slowly.

My option strategy vary in whole year. At first, I do screen base on STS. Earn and lost, earn and lost, end up lost a bit. A big lost occur during I trade MRO, due to did not cut lost. Then I change the strategy to guessing earning call. I really have no talent on this strategy, end up mostly lost trade. Earn more than 150% at MUR, and 450% at NOV. But all my earning lost in DRYS, which end up worthless.

My portfolio almost empty at this point, pump in fresh money. Again same, earn on credit spread, lost in normal options. Market drop after Lehman brother fail, drop for 7 days consecusly, and I jump in on 3rd day, buy AIG, C and DRYS.

C nearly collapse on Nov, which drag my money in more. I write C put options. After rebounding with US government injection, I decide to pull out all, to avoid putting too much of my portfolio into risk.

Conclude result for 2008, lost 41% of my portfolio. No more any open position.

NTES Trade Update

So volatile market, which make NTES move again what I predicted previously, hit my stop lost point 20.60. The trade trigger and I BTC at 20.63, lost 1.24.

Unexpected FED cut the interest rate to near Zero, make the market start turn from down trend and move toward short term bull. Personally, I am still bear about current market. Will look for nice short trade set up.

GM should go to 0?

I really cannot see any point why GM stock price still above 3.90 today. The shareholder equity already negative for a long time. If this happen in Malaysia, KLSE will issue a PN4 to this company. If the company still cannot turn the shareholder equity to positive, in 4 quarter, they will be delisted.

From my point of view, no matter what happen, (bailout or not), it's stock price should be < 1. It is a easy mathematics calculation. But people emotion and hopes drive it up. And true to me, I am not dare to short it now also. So let's us see what would happen next.

I think it would be only in US, the bailout being so difficult to be done. If this happen to Proton, Honda, or Hyundai, the Malaysia, Japan, Korean government will not hesitate to save it. I am not sure Congress (Parliment) have a right to deny it, maybe the government just use the money, and without notice anyone. (Just like what recently happen on Malaysia, government inject 5 billion in Valuecap). I not even know what Valuecap is. Did malaysia government ask anyone to apporve this? I am not sure, but probably no.

2008/12/12 SPY

No one can anticipate that the auto bailout plan, will die in Senate, although already been passed in Congress. And now, the White House step in to prevent a collapse on auto sector. Until the time I wrote this post, the White House still haven't come out any plan on the replacement bailout plan, but it just promise it will do so, the bailout.

And on 2008/12/12, SPY experienced a perfect swing, which it up nearly 5% if compare to session low, making the chart become more unpredictable. If you look at the chart, SPY still haven't break the major trend line, but it formed an uptrend line from 2008/11/20 low. But the MACD showed positive divergence, so it would more likely to be uptrend. But all still depend on the unpredicted news, such as GS, MS report on next week, and the most importantly, the auto bailout plan.

For my personal view, I think White House should not save the auto maker. But it may arrange it into more manageable bankrupt plan, or merge them together, to compete with Germany and Japan automaker. Certainly, everybody know, US automaker are not competitive enough, it is not a secret. And, with lending 14 billion to them, to pay the dealer, won't solve anything. Everybody know it, but they are trying to avoid a massive collapse on auto.

There are still a lot of uncertainty on financial sector. And the first 350 billion of TARP, already dry up after save the giant bank, Citigroup. If they still lend the money to automaker, when another round of financial institution problem arise, they will not able to act. It will be unlikely the second phase of 350 billion will be pass for current Bush administration.

We shall see, in the next few day.

SPY rise in the short session of last trading day in Nov, post the biggest 5-day gain since 1929, broking most analyst glass. However, we can see low volume on this few day, which mean the real challenge will begin next week, with all the investors and traders come back after the holiday. The previous high 92.06, will perform as a short term resistance. If it cannot break through on the following week, we shall see some pull back and profit taking action. Uncertainty remain, with big 3 automaker fate, and possibility of more financial institution will dry up, and seek for government help.

Have 2 watch list currently. AVB and HCN. Both showing sign of reversal, and Reward/Risk Ratio is high. Will watch closely on Monday.

Today is holiday, Thanksgiving days. No market today, hence spend some time to review the current SPY situation.

SPY rally for the fourth day, although all the news announce is bad news. Let's look at the chart, although the price increase, but the volume is dropping. This might be a sign of weak rally. It is still down trend, and will have a resistance at 93-94.

I think now is a good time to short. I might be wrong. But I still cannot see any sign of recovery. The big 3 car maker bailout will have a great debate. Still a lot of uncertainty. Again, 80 is a crucial support line for SPY.

Pull Out

I admit the lost. I pull out all my position on US stock yesterday, with 3.3k USD lost. The reason of pull out is, I am exposing too much money on the most risky region, and most risky sector, financial, which might post a great return (if recover), but might cause a deadly effect, if it collapse. So, I pull out because I can't take the risk.

After selling my Citibank, it continue to soar today, reach USD7.00. But I do not regret, because I cannot take the risk, hence, those who able to take the risk, should experience they gain. I am still bearish on current market. Hence I will create bear call spread.
Ya, it is pain, cut-lost is far far more difficult than profit taking. It need courage. Anyhow, I hope C won't collapse, because a lot of my friend still holding it, some of my friend working at C. Hope this crisis will over faster, and not affect everyone's life.

I will trade on short term credit spread, until I see another opportunity, and this time, I will hold for long run.

看到一篇很有趣的故事，贴上来提醒提醒自己一下。

话有個老魔鬼看到人間的生活過得太幸福了，他說：「我們要去擾亂一下，要不然魔鬼就不存在了。」

他先派了一個小魔鬼去擾亂一個農夫。因為他看到那農夫每天辛勤地工作，可是所得卻少得可憐，但他還是那麼快樂，非常知足。

小魔鬼就開始想，要怎樣才能把農夫變壞呢？他就把農夫的田地變得很硬，讓農夫知難而退。那農夫敲半天，做得好辛苦，但他只是休息一下，還是繼續敲，沒有一點抱怨。小魔鬼看到計策失敗，只好摸摸鼻子回去了。

老魔鬼又派了第二個去。第二個小魔鬼想，既然讓他更加辛苦也沒有用，那就拿走他所擁有的東西吧！那小魔鬼就把他午餐的麵包跟水偷走，他想，農夫做得那麼辛苦，又累又餓，卻連麵包跟水都不見了，這下子他一定會暴跳如雷！

農夫又渴又餓地到樹下休息，想不到麵包跟水都不見了！「不曉得是哪個可憐的人比我更需要那塊麵包跟水？如果這些東西就能讓他得溫飽的話，那就好了。」又失敗了，小魔鬼又棄甲而逃。

老魔鬼覺得奇怪，難道沒有任何辦法能使這農夫變壞？就在這時第三個小魔鬼出來了。他對老魔鬼講：「我有辦法，一定能把他變壞。」

小魔鬼先去跟農夫做朋友，農夫很高興地和他作了朋友。因為魔鬼有預知的能力，他就告訴農夫，明年會有乾旱，教農夫把稻種在濕地上，農夫便照做。結果第二年別人沒有收成，只有農夫的收成滿坑滿谷，他就因此而富裕起來了。

小魔鬼又每年都對農夫說當年適合種什麼，三年下來，這農夫就變得非常富有。他又教農夫把米拿去釀酒販賣，賺取更多的錢。慢慢地，農夫開始不工作了，靠著經濟販賣的方式，就能獲得大量金錢。

有一天，老魔鬼來了，小魔鬼就告訴老魔鬼說：「您看！我現在要展現我的成果。這農夫現在已經有豬的血液了。」只見農夫辦了個晚宴，所有富有的人都來參加；喝最好的酒，吃最精美的餐點，還有好多的僕人侍候。他們非常浪費地吃喝，衣裳零亂，醉得不省人事，開始變得像豬一樣癡肥愚蠢。「您還會看到他身上有著狼的血液。」小魔鬼又說。

這時，一個僕人端著葡萄酒出來，不小心跌了一跤。農夫就開始罵他：「你做事這麼不小心！」「唉！主人，我們到現在都沒有吃飯，餓得渾身無力。」「事情沒有做完，你們怎麼可以吃飯！」

老魔鬼見了，高興地對小魔鬼說：「唉！你太了不起！你是怎麼辦到的？」小魔鬼說：「我只不過是讓他擁有比他需要的更多而已，這樣就可以引發他人性中的貪婪。」

心若改變，你的態度跟著改變；
態度改變，你的習慣跟著改變；
習慣改變，你的性格跟著改變；
性格改變，你的人生跟著改變。

法治的终极境界

法治，预先假设人们的本性，都是恶的，需要严法来管制。制定的法，基本的基础是，已所不予，勿施于人。例如，我们不想被人杀，那我们就要放弃杀人的权利，以此类推。

法律，是大家一起讨论出来的，不轻易更改。法律，基本上是要用来保护大家，包括统治者，权贵，士子，工人，百姓。但是，当初大部分的权利，都聚在权贵，和统治者手里，所以当初制定法律的时候，通常这些人都有一点点特权，除非，当时权贵里出了一个全心为公的大人物，不然基本上，法律，一定有一些不平等。不过，这样的伟人，好像只有华盛顿。

假定，法律是平等的，不分权贵，平民。那么，法，就是一个终极的工具，事事依法，事事有法可循，万事不违法。但是，谁真正懂法？平民百姓，没几个懂，就连白领阶级的，也未必懂得那厚厚几千页的法。最终，还是那些权贵懂法多一些，因为他们一定要懂，懂了才可以走漏洞，才可以在法的边锋上行走。摆明是不对的行为，但是不违法，你又奈得他何？例子很多，林甘的“it sounds like me, looks like me, but it is not me!" 陈水扁的贪污案，阿都拉萨的无罪释放，等等。。。。都是当权者在玩把戏，但是我们平民就只能干着急，没办法做一些什么。

人心，才是这一切的根源。如果人心不善，多么好的法，也会被滥用。怎样修心？最好让因果报应的思想，根植在人们的脑里，这样至少会造成白色恐怖，让人们在做坏事时，也会想象以后的报应。

法治的终极境界，就会让那些掌控法，执法，知法的人，为所欲为。修心，才是王道。别让黑心把良心给吞了。

梦想

曾经，大家都有梦想。实际的，不实际的；可笑的，浪漫的；伟大的......等等。。但是，当年纪一天天的变大，就会发现我们离开当年的梦想，越来越远，越来越远.....远到自己都差点忘了当初的.....

其实，就一个平凡人来说，人的基本要求，不就是，住（一间家），行（一辆车）和一个爱人。但是，人们往往要的更多。在这个资本主义泛滥的社会，一个人的成就，往往取决与他的财富。所以，没有别的办法，只好拼命赚钱...赚钱。

比起二十年前，现在的年轻人的压力更大。试想想，20年前，大学毕业生平均薪金1500-2000，两层楼的排屋，60，000。现在，大学毕业生平均薪金2500-3000，两层楼的排屋，300，000。看到分别了吗？而且，房价还在上涨，这逼使了现在的年轻人，只好早一些买屋子，26岁就要买屋子了。这样，现金就会被锁，也没有勇气再尝试新的机会，因为每个月要给那1千多，还真的是不简单。

那当初的梦想呢？没办法，买了屋子，就差不多在那个地方扎了根，接下来的十年，应该也是在那里了。梦想，就只好暂时忘了。。是啊，三十年房贷，一生人就只是还债了。

其实，是谁说30岁之前一定要有屋子，没人说过。但是当你看到附近的同学们，大家都开始买自己的屋子了，能不能顶着这股压力，还是很难说。

梦想，还是要坚持；要真的不能了，也把它变小；但不能让它消失。要顶住社会，同僚的压力，坚持走自己的路。。至少，在我心中，还有个没崩坏的地方，坚持着梦想。

Investing Vs. Trading

Yesterday ask Lion, "since when we stop to cut loss, if we apply cut loss, we still can reserve most of our money, and wait for other opportunity, and even can make money at this market." Lion's answer is great, "For me, I am investing, and not trading. If you are trading, you should apply cut loss, but for investing, you are buying the business. So if the price is cheap to you, buy it and hold it."

Am I trading, or am I investing? This make me think twice. All the while, I am trading US options, and certainly that is trading. And my experience is, "cut loss when the market against you". Do not let all your profit, which collect small small portion from many trade, lost on a single trade. I experience this before, earn 100% of my portfolio in one month, and lost them all in another month, including my principal.

That is options, but now i buying stock, marvelous, great stock before, before this 2008 crisis. And as state in my previous post, I jump in too early, and now experience 40% lost of my portfolio. I am not scare this time, not as previous when I buy options, because options have expire dates, stock do not. But my fearless come with one assumption, which is these finance giant won't collapse, won't bankrupt like Lehman. I really cannot imagine a world, where Citibank suddenly disappear. Hardly imagine right, but who knows, maybe this will happen, no people will predict the collapse of Lehman also. Quote from John Mccain, "We don't hide from history, we made history!" Yes, US always make history, goods and bads. If really Citi going to collapse, let me spend some money inside, joining this history moment.

Yes, now i switch from trading to investing, partly being force to. But deep inside my heart, I still prefer trading rather than investing. If I only stick to my plan of bear call spread, my portfolio could reach at least 200%. Until now, I earn 20% every month from bear call spread, but of course, these money lost while I buy other options. I should try to find a security, which can provide cheaper price for bear call spread trading. TD Ameritradde a bit expensive, when open position, already lost 1.5% + USD20, this is quite a big ammount, if my spread is only 6%, the transaction fees already chew up >25% of my profit.

Nothing can do now, because most of the money being used to buy those giant stock. Certainly, at this volatile market, open credit spread position is really risky. The index can climb and drop >5% per day easily. Open normal call or put options is more practical, RRR(Return/Risk Ratio) is higher.

Again, I prefer trading rather than investing.

Crisis

I am so lucky, which I am able to step into invest world as 10 year old, although that time i was not really investing, i was gambling.

I had gone through 1993 crazy bull run on KLSE, 1997 Asia crisis, 2000 Tech bubble, 2003 SARS, and now, 2007 sub-prime. I always ask myself, since I had been hit down so hard on 1997, will i able to escape from the next financial crisis. I had been asking for so many time since Feb 2007, which the bull start to fade. Unfortunately, the answer is no. I am still in the market, enjoying the paper loss, which wape out all my 2006 gain.

Frankly, I can only said i was investing start 2000, thanks to internet, which allow us to read a lot of data online, making the world flat, fair to everyone. Thanks Lion, who actually bring me into the real investing heaven, US market. US stock market is the most complete stock market in the world, you can make money in all direction. There is no reason you cannot make money, just you might be in wrong position. In KLSE, when bear market, what we can do is pull out all the money, and wait to recover.

One of my friend, asked me before:"when will you pull out money from stock?". I said " I dunno". He said "then you are just playing a figure's game, watching the figure up and down, and you will never pull the money out!" Yes, he is true, i seldom pull my money out, it is just like a black hole, money go in, will hardly able to pull it out. But I believe that, it will bring me toward another level of financial freedom one day. Yes, that day will come.

This sub-prime crisis already last for one year, maybe the worst is pass, maybe is not. My prediction is correct, the stock will drop very fast, unreasonable fast, but i won't climb unreasonable. Hence my early strategy on doing bear call spread is correct, which make me earn a lot of money. But with the incredible 7 days down, i had been jump in into it on 3th day. It will be a good buy, only if the worst is behind us, else.......my confident level is not high.

Finally create a blog, on today, 2008/11/05, not a special day, but is the date Obama become US president.

Suddenly come out this title "DREAM". US had create a history, they always do, when will we? To create a nation which din care about what racial we are.....First post, dun write to much in politics.
